About @gracelikesthis

Inspired by a casual conversation with a small business owner, this digital space was born.

Overall my 'why' is deeply rooted in the desire to uplift and empower others. I have found immense joy and fulfilment in engaging with small business owners and individuals who are eager to start something new or grow themselves personally and professionally. I've experienced moments of fear and hesitation myself, but my journey as a coach has taught me valuable lessons and insights that I believe can make a positive impact on others.

Why coaching?

It’s something I’ve been doing as part of my professional career for a few years now. It’s also something I’ve benefitted from and still do as I navigate my own career and inner world. For me coaching is a great way to connect and engage with people whether it’s about entrepreneurship and innovation, starting a new side hustle and the fears this can bring or even if its about your own personal development.

Why small business then? A few reasons:

  • My formal studies have been in business.

  • For several years I worked in an organisation who’s purpose was to grow businesses for the benefit of New Zealand.

  • I’ve worked in varying sizes of businesses from small businesses to fast paced start-ups and larger enterprise organisations.

  • I believe small business can create economic stimulation and empowerment for individuals and families.

  • I’ve had a few attempts at my own start ups - I didn’t get very far due to my own fears!

  • I’m interested and passionate about organisational psychology and design - especially as it impacts people and wellbeing.

  • Right now, this is probably the scale of business size I’d be comfortable to offer my services to. #chillpreneurship

Who is @gracelikesthis?

People have described me as empathetic but also unafraid to tackle the hard stuff. I’m naturally very curious and a maximiser. I’ve experienced quite a bit in my life so far - from being a ballerina and ballet teacher through to wearing the silver fern as a 3 time New Zealand representative full bore rifle shooter. I’m a deep thinker who embraces the duty of care I believe we should all have, which is to be a good fellow human.

Right now I work full time in tech as a leader whilst working remotely in my camper van travelling around New Zealand. I grew up in Wellington and have always had a passion for hobbies and adventures and #vanlife has been a way for me to pack even more adventure into my life.

After being diagnosed with ADHD myself in 2021 I founded a Neurodiversity community in which I try to support individuals and leaders but also advocate for more inclusivity of ADHD in the workplace.

Aside from that I love to learn, love my friends, care very much about health and wellness and have seriously way too many hobbies! 🤓🥰🥳
